An Cuiltheann
An Cuiltheann will chart the challenge and the inspiration of the "Alps" of Skye - charting the history, the myths, the climbs, the characters and the artistry associated with the mountains. The programme will feature works of art associated with The Cullin - music, poetry and painting as well as interviews with artists, climbers and local people.
The mountain range has been an important landmark since early times, from the times of the Vikings whom many believe gave the Cullin its name, to the Skye clans of MacLeod and MacKinnon who fought over its borders.
In recent times the hills have inspired creative artists such as the late Sorley MacLean, Angus Peter Campbell, Donnie Munro and Pam Carter.
