Barail Bhoireannach
A new entertainment show offering lively discussion from a panel of women hits the screen in the New Year. With humour and wit, each week the women discuss a diverse range of topical issues, from fat to fashion, cash to caesareans, and education to e-shopping.
Chaired by Cathy MacDonald the programmes adopt a warm and intimate tone, and give the broadcast audience a real sense of complicity and privileged access to an intimate and spirited chat. The all-female panel change on a weekly basic keeping the discussions fresh and the mix of women reflect a good representative cross-section of Gaelic society.
Barail Bhoireannach is funded by the Gaelic Media Service and Produced by MNE Media. A spokeswoman for the Gaelic Media Service said 'Its great to see a new Gaelic entertainment series with such a relaxed style. We're hoping the series hits the mark with the female audience and beyond”.
In the first programme in the series, Cathy is joined by community campaigner Marybell Galbraith from Barra, actress Carina MacLeod, singer Margaret Stewart, and musician and youth worker Joy Dunlop from Argyll. This week Cathy tests their outlook on money as the women share their thoughts on debt to retail therapy opportunities.
