The stunning setting of Glasgow's Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is the backdrop for a special festive music celebration this Saturday on BBC TWO Scotland. In Laoidhean Nollaig a Kelvingrove (Christmas Carols from Kelvingrove), Cathy MacDonald joins some of the city's leading Gaelic choirs, as well as soloists, musicians and television personalities to present a music feast of seasonal favourites from one of Glasgow's most cherished institutions.

A choir of one hundred voices come together under the baton of Kirsteen Grant as the Glasgow Islay Gaelic Choir, the Glasgow Gaelic Musical Association, Govan Gaelic Choir, and Cumbernauld Gaelic Choir sing some of the best-loved Christmas carols.

Laoidhean Nollaig a Kelvingrove is funded by the Gaelic Media Service and Co-Produced by MNE Media/Hunter Productions. A spokeswoman for the Gaelic Media Service commented that 'MNE have gathered an incredible line-up for this show which promises to be a Christmas treat for all viewers in Scotland. We're delighted to have been involved in showcasing such a wealth of Gaelic talent”.

There's a chance to sing along with some seasonal favourites, including Hark the Herald Angels Sing and Silent Night. The story of the first Christmas is told by River City actor Tony Kearney and radio presenter John Carmichael, and there's music from pupils from Glasgow's Gaelic Medium School, and Mod Gold Medalists James Graham and Fiona MacKenzie who duet on a stunning performance of the beautiful Iesum Dominum by Father Allan MacDonald. Join Cathy and friends for the festive celebrations at the most-visited museum in Scotland.
